    Introducing Channel-Specific Publishing

Pick the Perfect Channel for Every Update

Live today, publishers in LaunchNotes can now choose—on a per-announcement basis—the specific channels where notifications are sent.

Until now, every new announcement needed to be published to a LaunchNotes page. Starting today, publishers can send updates directly to individual channels without publishing to a page at all.

Want to notify a single Slack channel? Do it with a click. Prefer to just send an email? Another click. Need both Slack and email for a critical update? Easy.

With this update, publishers can mix and match channels as needed—no page post required.

Evolving LaunchNotes for Modern Product Teams

Teams live in different tools. From the start, LaunchNotes has been built on the belief that product updates should reach people where they already work: Slack, email, in-product, and beyond.

For years, our personalized notification system has empowered end users to choose how they receive updates, which is one reason LaunchNotes drives industry-leading engagement rates across hundreds of teams.

However, as LaunchNotes has grown, more and more publishers have asked for similar control. Not to override user preferences, but to better target where specific updates go.

"Let users choose how they want to hear from us, but let us choose where each announcement is sent."

Today, we’re extending this same flexibility to publishers.

With this update, publishers are now firmly in the driver’s seat—deciding exactly where each update is delivered—while user notification preferences continue to be honored downstream. In short, LaunchNotes users and their audiences now get the best of both worlds.

      Smarter Workflows, Happier Stakeholders

This update opens the door to countless new ways to create more personalized and impactful workflows. Here are three use cases we know teams are already excited about:

      1. Weekly status updates to specific Slack channels
Product and engineering teams can now send quick end-of-week updates on their specific workstreams directly into curated Slack channels—keeping cross-functional stakeholders in the loop without noise or manual effort.

      2. Hyper-targeted email updates about beta programs
Launching a new beta but don’t want to advertise it publicly? Send a targeted email detailing the program and how to join—without exposing the upcoming feature to competitors on your LaunchNotes page.

      3. Exclusive updates for VIP customers via Slack Connect
If your top customers have dedicated Slack Connect channels, you can now share tailored updates with them before the news goes public. Think special product previews, early access to new features, or personalized announcements for your largest accounts—all delivered straight into their Slack workspace for a true white-glove experience.

      Live Today

This feature has been rolled out to every user and is live as of today. So the next time you publish an announcement, you’ll notice a new panel in the publishing workflow that lets you select which channels you’d like to use for each announcement.

Keep Helping Us Shape What’s Next

As always, this improvement was inspired by feedback from you, our many customers, and we’re always eager to hear what you think.

If you have any thoughts, questions, or suggestions about this update, please share them in the feedback section to the left.
