New: More Flexible Subscription Model 📢
Today we're excited to announce several big improvements to LaunchNotes' subscription notification system!
Landing Today
Yesterday afternoon we rolled out an improved subscription model. This model, which controls the underlying mechanics that create notifications for subscribers, is a core part of the LaunchNotes platform, and our engineers (special shoutout to Bryce!) have put a lot of love into this update.
We provided an overview of these changes last Friday, but in case you missed it, the full recap is included below:
What's New with Subscription Notifications
More targeted communication
In our ongoing effort to improve the #signal-to-noise ratio we've updated one of the rules that determines who should be notified when a new announcement is published.
Old Subscription Model: An announcement with no categories and no roadmap items selected sends to all subscribers
New Subscription Model: An announcement with no categories and no roadmap items selected sends to no subscribers

More reliable notifications for subscribed items
In our new subscription model, subscribers are more reliably notified when an announcement is published that includes at least one matching category or roadmap item.
We've identified and addressed a case in which it would have been possible for a subscriber to not receive a notification for a roadmap item to which they had subscribed. This would happen if they were not subscribed to one of the announcement’s selected categories.
We also identified and addressed a case in which, in rare circumstances, a subscriber could be notified about the same announcement twice.
Better control from the subscription management page
We’ve also brought subscribed roadmap items to the subscription management page to give users a full picture of their notification preferences in one central location.
Users can now easily remove roadmap items that are no longer relevant, or quickly navigate to your page's roadmap and subscribe to additional items.
