    Roadmap Sync with Jira

    STAGE: Complete
    TABLE OF CONTENTS:

To enhance speed, efficiency, and coordination in product development, it's crucial for all teams, from development to revenue, to communicate and align effectively. A significant challenge arises from cross-functional teams using diverse tools and platforms like Intercom, LaunchNotes, Notion, and Jira.

We are developing a Jira integration to bridge this gap. This integration will link LaunchNotes roadmap items with Jira Issues, streamlining collaboration between teams. Users will be able to create a LaunchNotes roadmap item directly from a Jira epic or issue or connect existing roadmap items with Jira issues. Once connected, the integration makes it easy to keep things synchronized between Jira and a LaunchNotes roadmap item.

      Jira Integration

A LaunchNotes roadmap item can be created from Jira issues and epics, and the capability will offer bi-directional control between Jira and LaunchNotes.

      • Jira users can create a LaunchNotes roadmap item from a Jira issue, automatically transferring the issue's title, description, and assignee to the LaunchNotes item.

      • A standout addition is the "Updates for Roadmap Items" capability, which revolutionizes the way teams communicate. It enables them to keep roadmap item members and subscribers updated on progress and changes that may not require a full announcement. These updates can be conveniently posted from within Jira.

      • As developments occur in the Jira issue, updating the corresponding stage in the LaunchNotes roadmap item becomes a streamlined process, manageable directly from Jira.

      • Both the roadmap item and the Jira issue will be linked, with this link visible in both LaunchNotes and Jira.

The integration has the opportunity to open up communication channels and collaboration for all teams, offering context and relationships between tasks, initiatives, epics, and overall company objectives.
